Jeff Halbert
Founder & President
Jeff Halbert is an accomplished veteran of the retail real estate industry with extensive public and private real estate leadership experience. His broad skill set covers the gamut of retail real estate ranging from free-standing single tenant buildings to grocery-anchored centers. He has a deep understanding of both the landlord and tenant sides of the business that he cultivated in key leadership roles with both national retailers and landlords.
His industry relationships cross all lines and have been key to his longstanding success. His combined retail developer, city planning, real estate investor and broker background rounds out the tools with which he has consummated hundreds of complex commercial real estate transactions over thirty years.
Uniquely Qualified
As founder and President of Blackpoint Group, Inc., Blackpoint Properties, LLC (a retail development company), and Keystone Real Estate Advisors, Inc. (a retail brokerage company), Jeff is responsible for leading, formulating and executing his companies core retail development, investment and brokerage strategies and driving results. This includes all facets of the real estate transaction cycle – from sourcing opportunities & acquisitions, to analyzing and underwriting, to negotiating terms, to financing, to ground up development, to property management and to closing & dispositions.
Jeff has completed 30+ retail projects in over 15 states, delivering in excess of 2,000,000 square feet of space with a finished value over $3B. Blackpoint Properties is a preferred developer for select retail tenants and provides consulting services to national real estate service companies and other developers.
Jeff has served in key senior leadership roles with a number of the country’s largest, best-in-class retail and real estate companies. Previously, he served as Senior Managing Director for Newmark, Vice President for JLL, and EVP for United Growth. His experience as a retail tenant executive include as Real Estate Manager for Starbucks, Director of Real Estate for Rite Aid, and Vice President/Real Estate Director for JP Morgan/Chase bank.
Jeff has a BA degree in Urban Planning, a Masters of Real Estate Finance and is a licensed California Real Estate Broker. In his continuing effort to stay abreast of changes in the commercial real estate industry, Jeff completed a certificate course in Artificial Intelligence focused on Real Estate from the MIT Sloan School of Management.
Jeff has been an active member of ICSC for over 25 years.
